Jussie Smollett ousted from the Empire series 2019

Jussie Smollett, the actor accused of staging his own homophobic and racist aggression in Chicago, was ousted from the current season of the hit Empire series on Fox in the United States.

The Fox produced this series that allowed Jussie Smollett, a black and openly homosexual actor and singer of 36 years, to gain a little notoriety in the United States.

"The events of the last few weeks have been incredibly emotional for all of us. Jussie has been an important member of the Empire family for five years and we love him immensely. Although these allegations are very troubling, we place our trust in the judicial system as the process unfolds, "according to the statement issued by the channel, and reported by TMZ.

"We are also aware of the effects of this process on the actors and team members working on our series. To avoid further disruption on the set, we decided to remove the role of "Jamal" from the last two episodes of the season.

Several sources had also told TMZ that the cast members no longer wanted Smollett to be on the set. Several were furious, and affirmed that if Fox did not dismiss the actor, he had to withdraw himself, and that he did not deserve his place in the series. Others believed him and supported him.

Several comedians felt hurt and betrayed. Jessie Smollett found solace among her colleagues after the alleged crime.

It is not yet clear if the actor will return in a next season.

If convicted, Jussie Smollett incurs up to three years in prison according to US media.

He had complained in late January, claiming to have been attacked by two masked individuals in central Chicago, who allegedly dumped him with "racist and homophobic insults" before hitting him.

He had claimed that a rope had been wrapped around his neck and that a chemical had been spilled on him. He also assured that one of the attackers shouted "We are in MAGA country" - a reference to President Donald Trump's campaign slogan (Make America Great Again).
